We were warmly invited to participate in their inaugural ONE West Youth Floorball League 2008. The details are as follows:


Objectives

To promote youth participation in sports in the spirit of friendship¹ and solidarity² (Winning is not everything!)

4 Saturdays in the month of June:
7/6/08, 14/6/08, 21/6/09 & 28/6/08

Prizes
The top teams in the two categories will receive a humble reward
friendship¹ - is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more humans.
solidarity² - union or fellowship arising from common responsibilities and interests, as between members of a group or between classes, peoples, etc.: to promote solidarity among union members.

Category
21years and younger (born in the year 1987 and thereafter)
Gender
Both Girls and Boys categories

Registration


  • There will be NO registration fees
  • Schools/Clubs/Organisations may register ONE girls team and ONE boys team only
  • Each team may register up to 20 players, including goalkeepers
  • Only 6 teams teams in each categories, on first-come-first-serve basis
Game format


  • 5V5 (optimally 4 outfield players and one goalkeeper)
  • Each game will have 3 periods of 15 mins each with a 3 min intervals

Tournament format

• The tournament will be played in a round-robin format

• 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and no point for a loss

• The team that finishes at the top of the table will be the winner

• In the event of a tie, the following criteria, in order of merit, will be considered to determine

The winner:

  • Goal difference
  • Number of goals scored
  • Number of goals conceded
Tournament Rules


  • The tournament shall be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the International Floorball Federation as stipulated in the ‘Rules and Interpretations 2006’
  • Every team MUST be accompanied by a registered team manager, who must be above 21-years of age and must be responsible for the safety as well as the conduct of the teams
    The tournament organising committee has the rights to disqualify any teams that to do comply to tournament rules and/or proper conduct
  • The organising committee assumes no responsibility for personal injuries or loss of belongings, arising from the participation in the tournament or activities related to the tournament
  • In the event of any question or matter arising out of any point that is not expressible provided for in any of the rules governing this tournament, the decision of the organising committee shall be final
